Mom delivers Twin Babies in two different years
Hello?? How is that possible you may ask? Well,...
Jaeyln and Luis Salgado shared a womb for 9 months, but these newborn twins don’t even share the same birth day let alone the same birth year!
According to reports, Luis was the first baby born in San Diego in 2016, delivered at 12:02 a.m. on New Year’s Day. His twin sister Jaelyn, meanwhile, may have been the last baby born in the city in 2015, having arrived just a few minutes earlier at 11:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
“It’s very unusual and it’s very special and I haven’t seen it in all my 34 years of nursing,” says nurse Lynnette Coetzee of the twins’ birthdays.
Nurse Coetzee jokes I’ll be sure to remember this family the next time I’m tempted to complain about my kids’ birthdays being just weeks apart. One twin celebrating a birthday a day – make that a year – before another will no doubt make for some tricky celebrations down the road!
Congratulations to Maribel and Luis on their adorable new arrivals.
